Gqeberha Learners Will Benefit from Ed-Tech Solution Provided By Startup

Learners at Gqeberha’s Newell High School stand to gain from education technology (ed-tech) solutions like ChatGPT, which are anticipated to introduce them to the newest advancements in artificial intelligence.

The ed-tech organisation Odin Education is bringing this amazing idea to one of Gqeberha’s oldest schools, which is situated in New Brighton.

The company stated in an interview with Good News Daily that the ecosystem consists of hardware, connection, e-learning platforms and resources, and round-the-clock assistance.

“These secure gadgets, which are closed for educational purposes only and do not allow access to social media platforms, will introduce learners to the newest artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, such as ChatGPT. They are powered by a software platform created by a local tech company, Jendamark. Additionally, the school will assign a school liaison to assist instructors and promote the use of technology in the classroom,” according to the organisation.

Forvia-Faurecia, an automotive manufacturer, has chosen Odin Education as one of its sustainability projects and is sponsoring the expansion of this effort at the school, firmly establishing education as one of the company’s primary emphasis areas.

Speaking at the handover event, Newell principal Zama Makapati expressed his excitement that Newell students would be at the forefront of educational technology innovation.

“Gone are the days when businesses would come to a school, unload computer equipment, and then go. We are extremely grateful that Odin is present week in and week out. The school liaison will be there to assist these students in making the best use of these ed-tech tablets.”

Forvia-Faurecia, the world’s seventh largest automotive supplier, is the latest partner to join the Odin Education ecosystem.

So far, the initiative has benefited over 3,150 learners in six provinces across South Africa, thanks to the support of both commercial and community-based businesses.

“We are proud, grateful and humbled to have partners like Forvia- Faurecia, Volkswagen and Standard Bank engaged in our day-to-day business and simultaneously working together for a brighter future for our children,” stated Quinton Uren, the managing director of Jendamark.
