Do4SA to Host Women’s Month Celebration and 10-Year Anniversary Event in Port Elizabeth

Non-profit organisation, Do4SA, will mark its 10-year anniversary with a commemorative event on Friday, 15 August, at the Boardwalk Hotel and Convention Centre.

The celebration, which runs from 17:00 to 20:00, will coincide with Women’s Month, honouring the leadership, resilience, and contributions of South African women.

The event is expected to draw community leaders, professionals, stakeholders, and advocates for gender equality and social development.

Organizers say the evening will serve as a dual celebration: reflecting on a decade of community-driven impact and creating a platform for inspiration and empowerment through the voices of two renowned keynote speakers.

Trailblazers Take the Stage

Saray Khumalo, the first Black African woman to summit Mount Everest, will deliver the keynote address. Khumalo is an award-winning mountaineer, motivational speaker, and founder of Summits With a Purpose, a foundation that drives access to education for underprivileged communities. Her message of courage and perseverance is expected to resonate deeply with attendees.

Joining her is Carina Bruwer, an internationally acclaimed marathon swimmer and humanitarian. Through her initiative Swim For Hope, Bruwer uses endurance swims to raise awareness and funding for social causes. She is also a celebrated musician, combining creativity and activism to promote lasting change.

Honouring Women and Grassroots Change

The event will highlight Do4SA’s achievements over the past ten years in areas such as education, community development, and grassroots empowerment. According to organisers, the programme is designed to honour the legacy of the organisation while promoting collaboration and dialogue among women across different sectors.

“Our goal is to celebrate the incredible women driving change across South Africa and to reflect on the journey that brought Do4SA to this milestone,” said a spokesperson from the organisation.

“It’s about recognising progress and looking ahead to a more inclusive and equitable future.”

A Space for Connection and Reflection

Attendees can expect a curated evening that balances elegance and purpose, with networking sessions, reflections on key milestones, and a showcase of Do4SA’s flagship initiatives. The atmosphere will reflect the strength and dignity of women’s leadership, with an emphasis on building lasting connections within the empowerment space.

The event is open to individuals and organisations passionate about social change, women’s development, and community upliftment. It is set to be one of the key highlights of Women’s Month in the Eastern Cape.
