The inaugural two-day trade and business conference was organised by Vino Pillay, President of IWFCI SA, and attracted female entrepreneurs from around the globe. It was hosted in Sandton during women’s month, August.
The goal of the event, the Global Women’s Trade Summit, which was organised by Pillay and volunteers from the International Women’s Federation of Commerce and Industry (IWFCI) South Africa chapter, was to improve the economic climate for women in business.
Pillay underlined the value of cooperative efforts between companies, organisations, and governments in order to support laws that encourage free trade among female entrepreneurs.
In order to push for laws that encourage free trade among female entrepreneurs, governments, corporations, and organisations must work together, according to Pillay, who stated that her organisation supports initiatives like this one.
Proponents think that women entrepreneurs may have more access to resources and markets through the removal of trade barriers and promotion of economic cooperation, which would spur innovation and growth in their sectors.
The summit brought attention to how inclusive economic policies may promote entrepreneurship, advance gender equality, and accelerate economic growth throughout the continent.
The Global Women’s Trade Summit is a life-changing event that promotes a more varied and inclusive global economy while honouring the accomplishments of women in trade.
IWFCI is a membership-based, non-profit organisation that is not governed.
It was founded to assist women in pursuing careers in business and advancing international trade. IWFCI is still, above all, a powerful platform for women to connect with other like-minded business owners and build a network of support as they grow their enterprises.
Pillay can be described as a pathfinder.
Her civic engagement serves as an example of how women and young people can change these perceptions.
Pillay’s initiatives in social action, youth development, and women’s empowerment open the door to a society that is just and equal.
