On 20 November, communities across South Africa will unite to celebrate Universal Children’s Day — a global reminder that every child deserves protection, opportunity, and dignity.
In Gqeberha, Do4SA will use the day to make that message real.
Working with schools and community hubs, the team will deliver 200 hygiene and stationery packs to children who too often go without the essentials many take for granted. The drive will focus on supporting wellbeing and strengthening a sense of pride and care among young learners.
For Do4SA, the initiative will be more than a donation — it will be a promise:
Every child matters. Every child deserves to feel seen.
“Children are the heartbeat of our communities,” says project manager Soknamai Fall.
“When we support their confidence and health, we set them up for success in school and in life.”
This drive will form part of Do4SA’s ongoing commitment to child development through programs such as Stationery Packs, Make Me a Coder, and the Imifuno Gardening Initiative — all designed to build pathways to future opportunities.
Universal Children’s Day will place a spotlight on children’s rights, especially for those facing economic hardship or social barriers. Do4SA’s initiative will help ensure that young people feel valued on a day dedicated entirely to them.
The initiative’s success will be built on collaboration: donors, volunteers, schools, and local partners joining forces with a shared mission — protecting childhood.
What happens on this single day will continue making a difference long into the future:
Brighter confidence.
Improved wellbeing.
A renewed belief that each child’s future matters.
Through each pack delivered, Do4SA will protect dignity, unlock potential, and remind every child:
Your rights are real. Your dreams deserve space to grow.
Description: For Universal Children’s Day, Do4SA will lead a heart-centred drive to provide 200 dignity and hygiene packs to vulnerable children in Gqeberha. The initiative will promote awareness of children’s rights while restoring confidence, wellbeing, and hope for young people across under-resourced communities.
Editor’s Note: Universal Children’s Day reminds us that every young person deserves care, safety, education, and full inclusion. This initiative will highlight the power of community partnerships in protecting children’s dignity and building a brighter future for the next generation.
